The wolverine of the 70s

A fantastic little tidbit from a Thomas Boswell column, dated June 12, 1983, from the Washington Post:

"Once, Johnny Bench went to the hospital for a foot X-ray. No new break showed, but three old and healed broken bones were found that Bench had never noticed."
